Most people prepare for travel by packing a suitcase. We think about clothes, reservations, tickets, and itineraries. But sacred travel asks for something different.
Preparing Your Attention, Not Just Your Suitcase
It asks you to prepare your attention.
Before you ever step onto a plane or a trail, pause and ask yourself why you are going. Not what you want to see — but what you are willing to receive.

Sacred Travel Is a Relationship
Sacred travel is not sightseeing.
It is relationship.
It is a relationship with the land, with the people who have honored that place before you, and with something deeper within yourself.
Arriving with Humility and Respect
Preparing for sacred travel means arriving with humility. It means learning about the history of a place and the cultures that have held it sacred. It means slowing your pace before you even arrive, so that when you do step onto that ground, you are ready to listen.

Sometimes preparation means quieting your expectations. Sometimes it means leaving space for the place to speak before you decide what it means. The truth is, sacred places rarely reveal themselves to hurried travelers. They open slowly. They reveal themselves to those who arrive with curiosity, respect, and patience.
Listening for Why You Are Being Called
Before your next journey — whether it is across the world or just down the road — take a moment to ask yourself a simple question:
Why am I being called there?
That question alone can change the entire experience. Sacred travel does not begin when you arrive at the destination.
Before your next journey, pause long enough to listen.
Where is a place that has been quietly calling to you lately? Share it in the comments.
