Have you ever noticed how certain symbols seem to follow you?
You see them in dreams.
Then in a book.
Then carved into stone halfway across the world.
That’s not coincidence.
That’s conversation.
Symbols don’t belong to one place—they belong to consciousness. And when we travel, especially to sacred places, those symbols begin to rise and repeat because something within us is ready to listen.
A serpent that appears in a dream may later reveal itself carved into the wall of an ancient temple.
A doorway that keeps showing up in your inner life might suddenly stand before you in a cathedral or a ruin.
Water that moves through your dreams or emotions may draw you toward rivers, oceans, or cenotes that mirror your inner landscape.
Across cultures and centuries, symbols repeat because they carry archetypal meaning—thresholds, rebirth, protection, transformation. These images are older than language. They live beneath story and doctrine, woven into the collective human psyche. And when we move across landscapes, the outer world begins to echo the inner one.
Symbols are often hidden in the margins—tucked between the lines, suspended beneath the surface of words and daily life. They don’t shout. They whisper. They wait.
This is one of the great gifts of sacred travel.
The land reflects us.
And we reflect the land.
When a symbol follows you across places, it isn’t asking to be analyzed or decoded. It’s asking for relationship. It wants to be felt, honored, lived. Symbols don’t demand explanation—they invite participation.
So, the next time you travel, don’t just look at what’s beautiful.
Notice what feels familiar.
What symbol keeps showing up?
What pattern repeats?
What story is being told—not by the guidebook, but by your own soul?
Because when symbols follow us across landscapes, they’re reminding us of something essential: the sacred isn’t somewhere else.
It’s walking with us.
On your next journey—near or far—pay attention to what repeats. And if a symbol keeps finding you, I’d love to hear about it. There may be more wisdom unfolding than you realize.

I know I won’t ever be the same. This trip has cracked open something in me. I feel the opening up of an entire way of seeing and being present in the world. It’s not every day I get to slip behind temple doors, peek into ancient scenes, and see levels of the world that have timeless meanings and wild intelligence even amidst modern settings.
