Feng shui principals are usually applied to arranging one’s home, but I have discovered, that they are extended to the most intimate house we inhabit, our human body.
My clients and students are often amazed when they tune into the patterns that are embedded in their spaces and therefore their lives. The longer you live or work in a location, the deeper the blueprint or connection between you and your space.
Most are shocked to discover that your space can influence your health in profound ways. And the experience is different for everyone, depending on each person’s life and challenges. I like to ask people to reflect on what’s happening in their lives, as well as patterns and issues that they would like to shift. See if you can identify anything in the related area of your home that you might shift or adjust to assist positive movement in your life for better health.
Each section of the Bagua or energy map corresponds to a portion of your body. When there are problems in a particular portion of your home, they can oftentimes show up as a problem you have with your health.
The entrance to your home represents your face. Your front door is the mouth. The cleaner you keep your entrance the better your senses.
The four corners of your home represent your hands and feet. Not only might the mess and clutter in one of those corners affect one of your hands and feet, but it also might affect how you handle yourself in the world. The cleaner the four corners, the stronger your position outside your home.
Your heart is represented by the center of your home as well as your favorite room.
The bathroom is connected to your kidneys, kitchen liver, dining room pancreas, window lungs, hallways intestines, and the overall structure is connected to your spine and bones. When you have health issues, examine the area of your house connected with the issue.
This is a lot to consider. I recommend that you become a detective in your own space. Take an objective or neutral stance and be open to whatever you discover, without judgment. None of this is about right or wrong. Situations simply “are.” Feng shui is merely a tool that you can use in a symbolic way to make your life flows a little easier.
Of course, all medical problems should be treated and this isn’t intended as medical advice but as a better way to understand how your health can show up in your life and how your health can be impacted by your home. It shows us, too, just how truly we are a part of our homes and how our homes can extend into our lives.
