“Choice is your greatest power. It is an even greater power than love.” Caroline Myss
My friend Caroline Myss is an expert on power. For decades she has made power the focus of her work. She explains that power is the fundamental ingredient of the human experience. Our attitudes and beliefs, positive or negative are all extensions of how we define power.
So, how do you get your power back? Here are a few tips.
- Decide to Claim Your Power Back – Develop a statement of being that you can repeat every day. Start with I Am. I am a radiant, beautiful, kind person who expands joy and love in my life and to the lives of those I touch. Memorize it and say it daily.
Daily Visualization and Meditation – personal power is metaphysical so getting your power back will require internal work. Take a few minutes each morning to visualize your power returning.- Release old stories and heal old wounds – this could require traditional therapy, journaling, and energy modalities like acupuncture. We can’t change our past, but we can work to heal and release it.
- Practice Self-Care – create a list that you can check off each day. I work out every morning, I meditate and pray, I read… do whatever this means to you.
- Establish Boundaries – you lose power when you say yes when you really want to say no. And when we allow people to treat us disrespectfully. So, create the boundaries you need to put yourself first.
When you get your power back, not only will it help you create a joyful and fulfilling life, but you help heal the world. The more people who stand in their power, the more space we create for others to do the same.
My hope is that we all reclaim our power and use it to create healing and beauty in the world.

Pluto is a generational planetary object. In a way, you can track the generation you belong to by the sign Pluto is in. It takes 248 years for it to orbit the Sun, and it can stay in a zodiac sign for between 12 and 30 years.
After melanoma skin cancer, and my last facial reconstruction surgery, I promised myself that from now on I was going to live my life by a compass, not a clock. And I made a list of all the places I wanted to experience. Now, almost seven years later, I am almost at the bottom of that list and just returned from a place that was always at the top, Egypt.
Isis was the Egyptian goddess of love, among other things. So, Isis got me thinking about love, and I don’t mean just any kind of love. I mean the kind of love that allows you to feel safe enough to be vulnerable.
