We all know and understand that the sun drives the cycles of our days and seasons while providing us a framework we can use for running our lives. However, what you may not know is the role of the sun and moon, which has a strong influence in Feng Shui. The lunar calendar, which Asia follows, is moon-based like the first new moon of the year is the New Year.
How can we use the sun and the moon symbols in our homes and lives for love, wealth, recognition, rest, and success?
The sun is symbolized by the east where the sun rises. It’s the symbol of power and authority. Using a sun symbol in your home will help symbolize that you are “in the light” of recognition and success.
The sun is the ultimate male energy – the yang energy while the moon is female or yin energy. Together they bring balance, the tai chi or yin yang circle.
If there is a lack of sun in the home there is a lack of chi that is why I always suggest that you open the curtains and shutters to allow the yang energy in. It will lift your home’s energy and help purify it. And it will lift your spirits too. Add a sun to your relationship section, that far right corner of your space, and it will light the way for love to find you. Gold jewelry, which symbolizes the sun, will lift your personal chi.
If your life is too stressful then bring in the moon energy for renewal, calm, and rest, especially in your bedroom. Diffused light, billowy white curtains, and soft textures will help you accomplish this. I am a big believer in using the new moon to activate beginnings like projects, relationships, or contracts. I also energize my crystals in the moon. I put our rose quartz in the moonlight to activate them for love. Or even to activate a strong business relationship.
Using the symbolism of the sun and the moon will help in balancing your chi and bring your life harmony.
