Nothing in Feng Shui is “out of sight, or out of mind” especially your closets. Everything is energy, everything has chi, so there are no boundaries. It is a rare house that I go to that has organized closets so you are not alone if you need to clean yours up.
In Feng Shui, closets are connected to your innermost, your deepest and often hidden feelings about yourself. The state of your closets are a direct reflection of your self-esteem.
Here are six easy tips for any closet:
- Make sure there is good lighting. This is tied to your well being.
- Any closet can use a fresh coat of paint. This will refresh your inner thoughts and lighten your mood.
- White is always a good choice for your closet because it opens the energy up and will encourage clarity.
- Clutter in closets is the biggest challenge. Take a look at each item, shoes, shirts, dresses, coats and make sure you still wear them and that you still love them.
- Organize according to color. Color plays an important role in Feng Shui and in our lives. Rather than opening your closet to a mix of colors, why not organize your clothes using the rainbow guide – red, orange-yellow, green, blue, indigo, purple and then black and white.
- Make your closets beautiful. If the closet represents our inner thoughts, why not make the closet a beautiful and calm space to escape to.
What are your closets revealing about your innermost thoughts?
