Grim Reaper is Not Good Feng Shui

The symbolism of the artwork that we hang over our bed is an important icon to the relationships we have with each other as well as ourselves.

If you have a painting or photo of a single person, one flower, one butterfly, etc. this represents single person energy.

If you have a barren field or a dead animal head or bones, this represents decay or death, again of our relationships.

If you want to find a love interest or keep a loving relationship, have something over your bed like two flowers or two butterflies or photos of flowers or plants representing growth or mountains representing strength.

So, the Grim Reaper is not good Feng Shui on so many levels.

How Your Bedroom Symbolizes Love in Your RelationshipDo you want to know what I like about this bedroom? EVERYTHING!

No matter where your bedroom is located, it always represents your love and relationships. Warm colors reminiscent of skin tones such as the color of the bedspread are ideal because they are soothing. Greens are considered restful, the perfect feeling for a bedroom.

Behind the bed are healthy green leaves that are growing upward, just like the relationship of the people who sleep there.

There is a great deal of balance with the two lamps on the two night stands.

And the only thing I would do is get the books off of the floor and suggest that the drapes be closed each night so that the window panes do not cut the chi while these people sleep.

And finally, I find this room to be inviting and sensual, what could be better than that to symbolize love and relationships?

Getting rid of clutter is a foundational principle of Feng Shui. Clutter creates stagnant energy and becomes an obstacle to any flow of chi in your space. Form defines energy. Clutter represents a chaotic form, thus chaotic energy. When clutter is removed, additional space is created. 

A genius of the last century, Nicholas Tesla once said, “There is an abundance of energy in space.” What an understatement! The less clutter you have, the more space you have, and the better flow of energy you have to activate all the power sections of your space.

Feng Shui Design Tips for Your Living Room

GrandfatherMy great great grandfather was 12 when his family was murdered in Ireland. He stowed away on a ship and landed in New Orleans. He later became a judge and bought this house on St. Charles Ave.

I have always loved this room. Doesn’t it feel good? That’s because it’s balanced. The mirror over the fireplace represents water which balances the fire. The credenza represents wood, flowers on the table brings in the earth element, and all the white is metal or air. All of this air is perfect for a living room that wants to encourage conversations, including the couches that face each other, which will balance any dialogue between anyone who sits on them. How does your living room feel?
