From the beginning of time, humans have built sites guided by the earth’s life force and the planets meridian lines. I am fascinated as to what their purpose might have been and why they built where they are. I have discovered that the sacred sites I have experienced have served as a repository of wisdom, energy, and illumination that can be accessed by anyone. These places often have intricate designs, yet others are just simple, but all speak to people on a profound level.
Some of the sacred sites that I have visited and pilgrimages I have taken- what I refer to as the acupuncture points on the earth are:
- I climbed around Machu Pichu and the Inca Trail in Peru and met a Curandeira that predicted my future.
- I watched people dispose of their dead and drink from the same water at The Ganges River in Delhi, India.
- I traced my roots to The Artic Circle in Iceland where my ancestors the Vikings lived and after seeing the beauty of that land, I know why they thought they had arrived in Valhalla when they arrived on the shore.
- I was a pilgrim on El Camino de Santiago in Northern Spain and walked around 20 miles day after day, all the way to the mass at the cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, and felt as if I walked with all the pilgrims that had come before me.
- I saw petroglyphs from thousands of years ago in Chaco Canyon in Northern, New Mexico that had alien spaceships drawn on them.
- I prayed at the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem and was healed at the Church of the Holy Sepulcher in Israel.
- I felt the energy at Stonehenge in the UK, and I was transported by all the Stone Circles in Scotland.
- I’ve hiked in Boynton Canyon in Sedona my favorite place on earth and talked to a dead Native American warrior who showed up.
- I imagined the call the Knights Templars must have had over a thousand years ago as I crawled around in their Castles in Portugal.
- I’ve put my feet in the healing waters of Lourdes, France, and had a profound experience in the cave where Mary Magdalene taught in Southern, France.
- I climbed up to the king’s chamber at the top of the Great Pyramid on the Giza Plateau in Cairo and watched as the ceiling evaporated so I could see the stars.
- And I prayed with Tibetan Monks in Jokhang Temple in Lhasa, Tibet, when there was still a Tibet.
These past twenty years I have been so honored, blessed, and grateful to have experienced all these things and so much more.
The sacred sites that call to you from afar, capturing your imagination and resonating deep within your soul, will nearly always be those that can help you forge a deeper connection with the divine energy that sustains all life.
Your receptiveness will help you establish lasting relationships with these sites, and you can draw upon their peace and power from wherever you might be. I hope this blog will serve as an inspiration to send you on your own sacred sites journey.
