“Seek truth and you will find a path.” ~ Frank Slaughter
I feel humanity is on a rollercoaster and we hear spiritual people just say awaken to your truth.
What the hell does that mean?
Meditate, do your mantas, chant, wear your crystal and light your candles. Truth can be dark, grim, bleak, or shocking horror. There is so much hatred and fear. Right now so many are hurting like hell. Confused. Depressed. Desperate. Anxious. So I talk a great deal about truth and connecting to spiritual truth to endure the pain and suffering that life can be.
Spiritual truths can make life more bearable because they allow you to see through the illusions of the world and to know that nothing external has ever can ever or will ever bring you peace, happiness, or love.
Here are some guiding truths that help me and I hope they help you to be in that sacred space of living your truth.
- Your soul knows your destiny. Your soul is the timeless part of you; it carries wisdom across time and space. Your body is grounded in this world.
- Healing comes deep from within. Perhaps this means you marry the traditional Western healing model with some energy modalities that activate your chi like acupuncture. Make time for daily spiritual disciplines like prayer and meditation.
- Make peace with your demons. Forgive and let go of any jealous feelings you might be having. Forgiveness always benefits us because it is a choice based on truth and love.
- Spend time in nature. Putting your feet on Mother Earth grounds you in a way you will never expect. Research shows that spending time in nature relieves stress, improves cognition, and helps the immune system. Tune into nature’s harmony. Be inspired. All of these things will align you with your truth.
- Find what gives you joy and do that every day. Maybe you strike up a conversation with friends, family, or even strangers. Make a list of what gives you joy so that you can actively seek joy every day and know what it feels like to be in that sacred space.
- Surround yourself with people who love you. They will inspire you and all of a sudden everything has a purpose. Including returning this love to them.
- Serve something bigger than yourself. An old Chinese Proverb tells it perfectly. “If you want happiness for an hour, take a nap. If you want happiness for a year, inherit a fortune. If you want happiness for a lifetime, help somebody.”
Living your spiritual truth must represent that which is true for you alone unhindered by outside influences. The truth is represented by the emergence of the authentic self, which is the soul’s true essence.
Live your truth. Express your love. Share your enthusiasm. Make today worth remembering. In time, life reveals itself through you as you discover that living your spiritual truth will be the natural progression of your evolution.
